“Classical in Columbus”

Mark Bauerlein in Modern Age (April 25, 2025)

English professor and senior editor at First Things, Mark Bauerlein recently visited Columbus Classical Academy (opened 2023) to give a talk to their community. Bauerlein cites this as yet another example of the extraordinary growth of Christian classical schooling across America.

A busy hive of learning, Columbus Classical provides evidence of why parents are choosing the classical alternative, for everyday includes: exploring and understanding the grammar of languages; discovering the extraordinary diversity of species and remarkable ordering of the biological world; learning to read and perform a Shakespearean comedy; and discussing “the best that has been thought and said,” always ready at hand (much of it memorized) for students and teachers alike.

As far as Bauerlein is concerned, this is just the beginning—the best being yet to come: “Keep spreading the word.”
