The Abbey of Misrule Substack by Paul Kingsnorth

The novelist Paul Kingsnorth explores the challenges of writing as a Christian (and recent convert), who is not interested in the third-rate fiction that is often produced by those describing themselves as “Christian novelists.”

Fortunately, Kingsnorth turns to some literary exemplars, including the scholar turned apologist, C.S. Lewis, and the novelist turned pastor, Frederick Buechner, to get his bearings in this pursuit of his craft in the spirit of his faith.

It’s an honest reflection, proffering some good advice from an exceptional author. Advice that might be good for all of us who are interested in portraying virtue in ways that are truly human: at times humorous, challenging, raw, and yet fizzing with life.
