The scholars and researchers of the National Association of Scholars have recently composed some model state legislation, in hopes of encouraging the continued expansion of classical education in more states.
To supply more teachers who are properly equipped for classical classrooms, the NAS model legislation proposes public support through the state university system for an “independent School of Classical Education.” With sufficient autonomy with courses and faculty, such SCEs could provide the next wave of classroom teachers for classical schools nationwide.
Citing the success of Arizona State and Flagler College in Florida, the authors of the model legislation outline a reasonable approach to expanding the teacher pipeline for classical schools.
