“The Classical School Database”

Heritage Foundation (April 2025)

How to Find Classical Schools

Earlier this month, the Heritage Foundation announced the release of a school locator database of nearly 900 schools that classify themselves as “classical.” Including both public and private schools, the database is searchable by address, grades served, religious affiliation (if any), and classical languages.

Parent Resource

This database was used to produce last year’s report by Rachel Alexander Cambre: “Classical Schools in America: A Movement of Hope.” Cambre collated this sizable sample from the various classical school associations and then provided a helpful characterization of the distinctives of classical schools—e.g., liberal arts and great books, parents as educators, art of learning, character formation, etc. All of this should be a helpful parent resource.
